Well, it looks like October is going to be a very busy month for me!
When I started this blog, I wanted to do more than movie reviews. I even managed to do a few different things, like comics, music and books, but I got on a movie kick. But horror to me is more than watching a much of movies. Horror is a genre, and as a genre, has plenty to offer. I wanted my blog to be a place that showcased that. I wanted to show people horror and the macabre can inspire many different mediums. Don't worry, I am still gonna do the movies. I just want to do more than movies too.
So I'm going to be doing a couple book tours in October, to branch out and do something I love just as much as ripping apart a terrible movie: Reading books. Ooooh how Kweeny loves to read. If you don't know, I am an avid reader and a published author! No novels published yet, just short fiction, articles, poetry, etc...
So if you thought I was a big horror movie nerd, you haven't seen anything yet.
I mean, I have a HUGE collection of signed books. To me, writers are rockstars. And I still remember when I got to BE one of those nerdy, weird rockstars when I went to my first writer con. *sigh* World Horror Convention in Toronto holds some really fun memories for me. Hanging out with fellow writers; oddballs in various fun and interesting ways, handing me so many drinks I wanted to be an octopus to carry them all...
*coughs* Sorry, got nostalgic there.
BACK TO THE BOOK TOURS BUSINESS!
As you can see, I posted the banners for the tours on the right there. The first one is for a book called KINGDOM, and I am proud to say it will not only be my first blog tour for First Rule Publicity, I will be kicking it off on the first day! (No pressure right?)
In a secret laboratory hidden under the desert, a covert
bioengineering project--codename "Exodus"--has discovered the gene
responsible for the human soul.
So came back on October 7th and read my review of the book, and see if it makes me as excited as an Orangutan on meth!
Then there is the second tour I will be doing for Book Me!, and I'll be doing a Guest Post on October 30th, with an excerpt for you guys to enjoy! Sweet deal right? So come check out the new Anthology FEAR: A Modern Anthology Of Horror And Terror, right in time for Devils Night!
Who's gonna read her some Biopunk-Noir-Thriller/Horror? THIS GIRL!
(Also, if anyone reading this is saying to themselves, "Kweeny's branching out! Sweet I should get her to review __________," then by all means, send me stuff. Just be aware of my new Review Policy. It will make us both happy if you followed it. Thank you.)
