HHMMM: Day 7

Wow...what am awesome weekend. Good food, good friends, and LARP crafting. Yes, I play in a LARP. If you are curious what that is feel free to ask in the comments. I do more than obsess over horror. I am a geek who freaks over many things. Or is that a freak who geeks over many things...*strokes chin*

The most relevant part to this post is the fact I did manage to get more movie watching in! YAY! Only a couple movies, but they were Tim Burton movies and those are great around Halloween. He's a spooky kid who's dreams came true.

Watched two movies today and they are:

Sleepy Hollow (105 mins/1999)

Kweeny's Rating: 4 out of 5

Summary: This is a wonderfully stylized  version of the Icabod Crane story. All the elements of the old Sleepy Hollow legend are here, but with amazing acting, beautiful settings and costumes and well... CHRISTOPHER FUCKING WALKEN as the headless horsemen, among other great actors! Seriously, Christopher Walken is so freaky in this, and he ever says a damn word.

Beetlejuice (92 mins/1988)

 Kweeny's Rating: 5 out of 5

Summary: I love this quirky, whimsical story of a couple who dies and are trapped in their house with the new family that movies in. Every character in this is great, especially the "Bio-exorcist" Beetlejuice. He has such memorable lines, and the music in this gets stuck in my head for days. I'm going to be dancing and wiggling my butt even when no one is around to see it. This movie may be a ghost story, but it's charming and full of life. One of my favorites for sure.

And now readers, I go die for a while. I am burnt out. I partied hard this weekend, and started it on little sleep. I'm dedicated to the cause ya'll. But I am honored my friends let me watch these movies to grab a couple more points for the Marathon! It's nice when your friends support your insane obsessions.

  1. These are both great movies! Christopher Walken was an unexpected but excellent choice for the Headless Horseman.

Randomly, I now think that Beetlejuice looks like Leatherface, because the on the "Wicked Weapons" the hairstyle and facial expression is almost identical to the one in this picture. Haha :D

    Hope you recover soon!
