Today I had some friends come by and we ate, drank and watched a couple films together. I watched one by myself, but the other two I had company to share them with. I also had lots of Woodchuck Pumpkin Cider too and more pumpkin chocolate chip cookies! NOM NOM NOM.
Kweeny's Rating: GET THEM DADDY!
Summary: So here's an interesting, slightly odd movie by Wes Craven that has cannibalism, child abuse and other weird things in it. At times the movie has moments where I couldn't help but laugh, because the 80's cheese is thick in those scenes. But other scenes are so dark you're not sure what kind of movie you are watching. I did enjoy it, and really loved "Daddy's" gimp suit.
NIGHTWATCH (114 mins/2004)
Kweeny's Rating: Beware the Gloom!
Summary: Okay, so no bonuses here, but it's a good film. I love the way they did the subtitles for it too, as they seem to flow around the action and are a part of the film and not just something you gotta read at the bottom. I like the whole premise of The Others too, and lots of awesome vampire stuff. The action is over the top but done well, so it's a fun movie to watch for that alone.
DEVIL'S CARNIVAL (56 mins/2012)
Kweeny's Rating: Come one, come all!
Summary: As you know by now, I am a huge REPO! The Genetic Opera fan. So when I first heard about the same folks making another movie, I had to watch it. This is now my 5th or 6th viewing, and I am glad I could show it to some friends. No bonus points for this one, and if I was actually playing I might have to justify watching it, but there is DEMONS in it, and there is HELL done carnival style. So COME ON... if that isn't festive and Halloween-ish, I don't know if you understand me at all.
My Halloween is full of hell carnivals.
Ah, the people under the stairs. That poor no tongued boy whose name escapes me. :(
ReplyDeleteAnd The Devil's Carnival sequel needs to get its ass here pronto. :p
